Ergonomic Guidance
A workstation that supports the whole workday.
Small adjustments to seating, screens and lighting can make day-to-day desk use feel more comfortable. This page shares general workplace guidance, not individualized medical advice.
A friendly checklist
Five quick wins for any desk
- Adjust your chair so feet rest flat and knees stay slightly lower than hips.
- Set the top of your screen at eye level, about an arm's length away.
- Keep elbows close to your sides at roughly a 90° angle when typing.
- Position lamps to the side, not behind the screen, to reduce glare.
- Look at something at least 20 feet away every 20 minutes for 20 seconds.
- Stand up and stretch briefly every 45–60 minutes.
